Arlis Wood

BOARD MEMBER

Dr. Arlis Wood is a semi-retired Psychologist, earning his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Oklahoma. He started his professional career in the US Navy & Marine Corps, providing psychological services to soldiers as they prepared to leave for the Vietnam war and as they returned from conflict zones. He continues that work in his “retirement” providing Veteran's Examinations for Veteran's Evaluation Services on a part-time basis. He has held numerous positions throughout his career, serving families and individuals of all ages, including serving as the Executive Director of a Child Advocacy Center in Kansas City, Missouri. In addition to his involvement on the Help Center, Inc. board, he is involved in the Montana Psychological Association, serving as Chair of the Public Education Committee. Arlis moved to Bozeman in 2017 with his wife, Dr. Suzanne Wood, a retired Speech and Language Pathologist. Together, they have two children and five grandchildren. They are proud of the successful careers of their children and spouses, which includes two more Psychologists, an emergency room physician, computer app company owner and a movie screenwriter/director. In his free time, you can find him and Suzanne out walking or jogging and taking their three dogs to the park.
